DIY Argan Oil Infused Lip Scrubs for Perfect Lips!

Lip care is an essential part of overall skincare and when our lips are not in a good condition, it shows. You feel them chapped, rough, with dry and flaky skin and no plumpness. When you apply lipstick it doesn't sit well on your lips. And not only is the beauty part important in having well-maintained lips, but dry and cracked skin on your lips can cause pain, bleeding and even be an entrance to bacteria and other impurities, which could cause an infection.

This is why we want to encourage you to take better care of your lips and offer you three very simple but effective DIY lip scrub recipes. They intend to not only remove any dead and dry skin off your lips, but also condition them and restore their smoothness and suppleness.

Nourishing Honey and Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

This is one of our favorite DIY recipes - it's super easy to make and is also very nourishing to the lips. And tastes super sweet! Honey with the combination of Argan Oil have powerful anti-bacterial and healing properties, restoring and protecting the chapped skin. They also provide instant replenishment and hydration to the lips.

What ingredients do you need:

5-6 drops of Essence of Argan Pure Organic 100% Argan Oil

1 tablespoon of raw honey

2-3 tablespoons of brown sugar

How to make it:

Into a small clean glass container first put the brown sugar almost to the top. Add the tablespoon of honey and mix to a homogenous paste with the brown sugar. Lastly, add the Argan Oil and mix well again. You can use the scrub immediately and we recommend you to store it at a room temperature, well-sealed with a lid.

Protecting Coconut and White Sugar Lip Scrub

In this recipe we use another great ingredient - coconut oil. Coconut oil is a wonderful protecting agent that creates a barrier between your skin and the environment. It's an amazing alternative for the colder weather and combined with the hydrating and restorative benefits of Argan Oil, you basically get a skin care product.

What ingredients do you need:

5-6 drops of Essence of Argan Pure Organic 100% Argan Oil

1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil

2-3 tablespoons of white sugar

A pinch of vanilla or lemon zest for flavor

How to make it:

As usual - pick a small container with a lid to store the lip scrub. In advance, melt your coconut oil and mix it with the Argan Oil. Then combine the white sugar with the oils and stir well to a creamy consistency. To add an addicting aroma, we suggest you add a pinch of powdered vanilla or lemon zest to the mixture. Store at room temperature, as the coconut oil may harden in colder conditions.

Revitalizing Lip Scrub with Coffee and Olive Oil

In this recipe we are using a finer scrubbing ingredient - ground coffee, that is more suitable for sensitive skin. The combination of olive oil, honey and Argan Oil is helping with repairing and healing the lips` skin, while the coffee polishes and brings back their plumpness.

What ingredients do you need:

5-6 drops of Essence of Argan Pure Organic 100% Argan Oil

3-4 tablespoons ground coffee

1/2 tablespoon of organic olive oil

1/2 tablespoon of raw honey

How to make it:

Put the ground coffee base into your empty container and then add the oils and the honey. Start mixing carefully to a paste. If the scrub feels thin in consistency, add a little bit more ground coffee. Store in a well-closed container at room temperature.

A Pro Tip from Us

If you want to add a plumping effect to your DIY lip scrub, you can add to the mixture half a tablespoon of cinnamon or a couple of drops of pure peppermint oil.

Mix the chosen ingredient well in the scrub and apply as usual. If you want a longer lasting plumping effect, leave the scrub on your lips for a minute and then wash with water or wipe with a cloth.

You`ll feel a tingling sensation - the cinnamon and peppermint oil are known to draw blood to your skin. You`ll see almost instantly a natural plumping effect which can last up to a couple of hours.

How to apply the lip scrubs

finger. Scrape a small amount of the scrub and apply with light pressure to your lips to pick up the dead dry skin and bring back the smoothness. If you don't want to mess your fingers, you can apply it with a soft silicon lip scrubber.

Rub the scrub for a good minute and then rinse it away with luke-warm water. You`ll notice a difference immediately - your lips will feel polished, supple and well-hydrated.

We suggest you use the scrub on a weekly basis to maintain your lips in good condition. If you easily get dry skin and your lips peel, you can do a regular scrub session 2-3 times a week, but be careful to not over exfoliate and hurt the thin skin on your lips.

Pair your Lip Scrub with an Essence of Argan Lipstick or a Lipgloss for beautiful color and shimmer all day long!
